Text | It is proposed to have a meeting of delegates, from the principal professional clubs, to take action upon the subject of putting a stop to revolving. We hope the plan will be carried out, and that such stringent rules will be adopted as will settle this matter until the next meeting of the National Association. The meeting will doubtless be held in June. ... While the delegates from the different professional clubs are settling the “revolver” question next June, let them fix some regular basis for the payment of professional players. An arrangement of this sort would go a great way towards removing temptation from professionals. The preliminaries of the Professional Tournament could also be arranged, and in fact, the delegates would have much important business to transact. Select your best men and then the business will be well done. |
